PRIVACY

Your data is yours.

The shortest possible version of how we treat what you give us. This page covers both this website and the Stree Sense app. Effective 20 August 2026.

On this website

On this website, we only collect what you give us through a form. There are three forms today.

  • Waitlist: your email address.
  • Contact, press, investors: your name, email address, organisation if you give one, and your message.
  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is found and used, such as which pages are read and where visitors arrive from. This sets cookies and sends usage data to those companies, with IP addresses anonymised. Nothing is set until you accept.
  • Advertising: if you accept, we also load advertising tools from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, and from LinkedIn. These set cookies and tell those companies which pages of this site you opened, including which articles you read, so that we can tell whether the ads we pay for are reaching the women they are meant for. Because our articles are about perimenopause, opening one tells those companies something about your health interests. They may match it to an account you hold with them and use it for their own advertising, under their own policies, which we do not control. Decline and neither tool loads at all.

We use your email and message to write back to you, and to tell you when Stree Sense opens. What you type into a form on this site is never put into an advertising tool, never uploaded to Meta or LinkedIn, and never used to target an ad at you personally. We do not sell or rent anything to anyone.

Form submissions are processed by Formspree, a form service that forwards messages to us by email. Beyond Formspree and our own email inbox, no third party receives your message. Our website is hosted on Vercel. If you accept cookies, data about how you use the site is also processed by Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Meta and LinkedIn.

We keep waitlist emails until Stree Sense opens, plus thirty days. We keep contact, press, and investor messages for twelve months, unless the conversation continues, in which case they stay with the conversation. Either is deleted on request at any time.

This website is not directed at children under eighteen. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under eighteen here.

Changing your mind

You can accept or withdraw at any time, here, and the page reloads so that anything already running stops. Withdrawing stops us sending anything further. It cannot reach back and delete a cookie another company has already set on your device; for that, clear cookies for this site in your browser.

In the Stree Sense app

The short version: your body’s data stays on your phone. Your record follows you by your choice. We never put your health information into analytics, and we never sell it.

Stays on your phone, and never leaves it

Your health-sensor data, meaning sleep, heart rate, heart-rate variability, breathing, and wrist temperature, and the baselines computed from it. On iPhone this comes from Apple Health. Stree Sense reads it only on your device. It is never uploaded, never seen by us, and never in analytics. On a new phone, the app re-reads your recent history to rebuild your baseline.

Held for you, so it can follow you

Some things are stored under your account so your record survives a lost phone and moves with you: your profile and your onboarding answers, your check-ins, taps, and symptoms, your period, medication, and doctor-visit entries, your diary, the milestones and readings the app has shown you, and the reports you file. They are protected so that only your account can read them.

Reports you file

The original document is stored privately, in a folder only your account can open. A secure server process reads it to pull out the dated facts, for example a ferritin value, and files those into your record. The file itself is never public.

Chat

The companion’s words: when you chat with the companion, your message travels through our own server to Anthropic PBC, whose Claude model writes the reply, together with your first name, your age range, where you are in your cycle, your goals, your last five check-ins and how many hours you slept last night. On iPhone, the short line about tomorrow at the end of a check-in is written the same way by Google LLC’s Gemini model from your first name, your fitness level and where you are in your cycle. Neither company receives your email, your phone number, your Apple Health or Health Connect readings beyond those sleep hours, or anything you have filed. Both process the data only to write the reply, under contracts that hold them to the same protections we give you. The companion asks for your permission before the first word it writes from your record, and you can withdraw it any time in the account sheet; the conversation is kept with your record.

Your email, if you give it

Used only to let your record follow you to a new phone, by a one-time code, and to reach you about your account. Not sold, not used for advertising.

Analytics, and what is never in them

We use privacy-first analytics (TelemetryDeck, EU-hosted, anonymous) to understand which parts of the app are used, so we can improve it. It records only counts and did-it-happen events, for example “a report was filed”, with no personal identifier.

Never in analytics: your health values, your symptoms, your free text, your name, email or phone, report or chat content, your cycle dates, or anything from Apple Health. Analytics are on by default. You can turn them off any time in the account sheet, and your body’s data is never in them regardless.

What we never do

  • We never sell your data.
  • We never use your health information to advertise.
  • We never share your record with anyone you have not chosen to share it with.

Your controls

  • Turn off analytics in the account sheet.
  • Leave and take everything. The account sheet’s leave door deletes your account and your entire record, including filed documents, from our systems. Deletion is final.
  • Health data. You control what the app may read, in the Apple Health settings on your phone, and can withdraw it at any time.

Keeping it safe

Your record is protected by per-account access rules so that one account cannot read another’s. Session credentials on your device are held in the platform’s secure store, the iOS Keychain. Documents live in a private store keyed to your account.

Children

Stree Sense is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. We know periods start long before 18, and that younger women are among those who most need to understand their own bodies. This is a “not yet”, not a “no”. India’s DPDP Act treats everyone under 18 as a child and requires verifiable parental consent before their data can be processed, so serving them properly means building that consent properly.

Where your data is handled

Your record and reports are stored in India. Analytics are processed in the EU. If you use the app from outside these regions, your data is transferred to and processed there, under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses agreed with our hosting provider.

How long we keep it

We keep your record while your account exists. When you leave, it is deleted. Deletion is immediate in our live database. Our hosting provider also keeps its own daily backups for up to seven days, so a deleted record can persist in those backups for up to a week before ageing out. Nobody at C3E Venture reads those backups. They exist only so the service can be recovered after a failure.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to tell you what we hold about you, to send it to you, or to delete it. We will action the request within thirty days. Write to our contact form with the subject “data request” and we will take it from there. In the app, you can also leave and delete everything yourself from the account sheet.

Changes, and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be told to you in the app, and sent by email to anyone on the waitlist. To ask anything about your data, or to exercise a right you have under your local law, contact hello@thestree.co.
